Too middle class?
I was called middle class six times last week in the one half hour during a Radio 5 paper review and all because I don’t have an overdraught and tip the postman at Christmas. I don’t think being deemed middle class in this case was a compliment. (Is it ever?) I blame my parents – how dare they not shaft me as a child so I could have moral high ground as an adult. Ah me! Does Tiger’s Ms Grubbs tip the postman? I have reason to believe she may have recently got rid of her overdraught although I don’t think you can be sexy and middle class. I’m sure there are exceptions however, which I must find before I return to Nolan’s radio show (tonight) when of course I will be taking with me a handwritten thank you letter for last week’s insightful commentary.
